Giddy Up Oom Poppa Omm Poppa Meow Meow

I went to meet this green-eyed lap kitty. (I need to find a better picture that shows her beautiful eyes) She wasn't actually a kitten. The sign stated that she was about two years old. My friend went with me and on the drive over all she kept saying was, "I think you need a kitten, a kitten would be much better for Pandora." UGH!

I love kittens. They are cute, but they are also naughty unless you have lots of time to spend with them. They need to learn where to poo and what not to shred or eat. That includes your fingers, toes and hair. I didn't have time to deal with a small bundle of terror. I also had several plants. Pandora was a good girl and left them alone. Kittens assume they are treats or play things. Ok, not all kittens do, but all the ones that have owned me before did. I sound anti-kitteh and it's not true! LOL I'm just saying that I want to be a responsible pet owner/slave and there is a good time and a bad time to try to get a new baby and bond properly. This wasn't the time.

We arrived at the apartment where the cat lived. I wanted to take her home immediately. It didn't matter that she completely ignored me and proceeded to crawl all over my friend. There was just something about her. I about died when her buddy, the couples toddler, flopped on the floor and she flopped right next to him. They both laid there in a twisted position as happy as clams.

Her current parents wanted to make sure "Boo" was going to a good home. I respected that. If I was to be her new meowmie, I'd have to wait until the Misses and her son left so he wouldn't freak out that "kitty!" wasn't going with. My heart was breaking. He seemed to love her so much. Boo let him pet her, the way small children do, and when he decided he was done chillin' on the floor he grabbed her and carried her off like a limp rag doll. She just purred.
To help convince them I should be her new slave, I asked a few questions so they knew she was going to a good home, not just someone that would neglect her or hurt her. I learned that Boo loves baths, only because after a while she had no choice. Her buddy had rubbed peanut butter all over her, among other things. She also added that Boo was a cuddle bug and preferred to sleep in the bed with her and her husband.

The next day I got a call from Mr. ? (I am so bad with names.) Boo is mine! I can come get her as soon as I donate $25 to the Humane Society and show him the receipt. HOORAY! First things first. She needed a different name!

I didn't expect things to go smoothly when I brought Elvira home. That was an understatement. Pissy Missy (Pandora) was down right pissed off! I felt so bad because Elvira was chill and just trying to check our her new home. She was curious about Pandora as well and made several attempts to introduce herself. "RAWR" and *SMACK* was all she got. By the second day she basically said screw you to Pandora and started hissing and growling back. It took about 4 days until Pandora realized the annoying new kid wasn't leaving.

Over the next year I realized Elvira is a kitten in disguise. Her energy is limitless. I decided I didn't want to be tagged as a spinster with two cats so I decided to get a boyfriend. Said boyfriend, Steve claimed she's not a cat, but rather she's part monkey, part doggy and part orangutan. I rolled my eyes because I know he loves dogs and would kill for a monkey so he's just making the best of living with two cats and their crazy meowmie.

Pandora loves her sister, as the pictures above illustrate. She even forgets she's a princess sometimes and runs around the house like a loon with her sister. It's short lived though. She gets tired, or pissy and Elvira is left bored and still buzzing with energy. Here is where I start considering if it's "kitten" time. Not only does Pandora need a break, but Steve and I do too. Elvira starts in on us wanting attention constantly and though I love her, I want to choke her.

Her chirps and purrts purrts make my heart melt. Oh but she never stops talking. Well, she does like to cuddle. Yeah, but she wont sit still for more than two minutes. (reminds me of a toddler that likes to wiggle or likes to play the "I want up, no I want down game.) I don't let her know this, but when she talks back to me when I'm scolding her, I just want to pick her up and snorgle her. *sigh*

Ok Ok, I know deep down having three cats is crazy so I dismiss the idea and instead go to Pet Smart an buy more toys. Elvira is a handful, but I figured she'll start to mellow out as time goes on. HA!

When my mom used to tell me that when you stop looking for something, it looks and finds you. I used to laugh. Not anymore.
